James Yuill & Friends @ The Lexington, May 14th.
What? James Yuill has a knack for throwing together a line up and he’s done it again for this Thurs night in Islington. Apart from James the line-up features the bordering on new Music Mule obsessions Django Django and the synth pop noodlings and perhaps my next new obsession Fenech-Soler. James Yuill is the king of electro-folk – think Kings Of Convenience remixed by Chemical Bros. For Fans Of: Er.. Kings Of Convenience and Chemical Bros!
Django Django have been on my stereo a lot since discovering them on MySpace and catching them at Camden Crawl. The vibe is electro tinged folk freak-outs. For Fans Of: The Earlies, Archie Bronson Outfit, Animal COllective.
Fenech-Soler are new to me but not for much longer I hope. They sound great. Continuing along the 80s obsessed theme of today’s music scene but thankfully with some real substance. Excited about this! For Fans Of: Neon Neon, Empire Of The Sun, Tigercity, Radio 4.
When? Thursday, May 14th.
Where? The Lexington, Islington.
How Much? £8
