What? Wave Machines + Ark People

Wave Machines headline this ‘Bloody Awful Poetry’ night at Madame Jojo’s in Soho. These mask wearing Scousers have been attracting praise for their wonky electro tinged pop gems, they also support James Yuill at his upcoming date with Post War Years.

Main support comes from Ark People who make grandiose orchestral pop songs along the same lines as Arcade Fire but with a wonderfully dark Joy Division edge to them. White Lies are doing similar things at the moment but I’d pick these guys every time. Listen to the bone tingling ‘When The Lights Go Out’ below.

When? Wednesday, Feb 18th.

Where? Madame Jojo’s, Soho.

How Much? £5

screaming-ballerinas

So there seemed to be a glaring omission in a Friday gig choice but fear not this is about to be rectified in the next few lines!

What? Screaming Ballerinas

This London band make colourful guitar pop tunes with a seventies edge to them. Dreamy voice comes courtesy of Laura Jean Marsh who conjures up vocals comparable to Blondie and Harriet Wheeler of The Sundays. Support is not yet confirmed but will be provided by Seb Collective and it sounds like they have a rota of easy on the ears artists working with them.

When? Friday Jan 30th

Where? Madame Jojo’s, Central London

How Much? £5
