vetiver

Beach House are Victoria Legrand and Alex Scally of Baltimore and they’ve risen to relative fame over the past couple of years playing support slots for the likes of Fleet Foxes and Grizzly Bear, Victoria even sings on ‘Two Weeks’ which features on the new Grizzly Bear album. They play gorgeous, trippy guitar pop sometimes bordering on shoegaze without the distortion. Victoria’s throaty vocals are something to behold too.

For Fans Of: The Velvet Underground & Nico, Grizzly Bear, Atlas Sound.

Vetiver are from California and make up the other half of this stunning double bill and to be honest they pip it for me. Andy Cabic and his band Vetiver have a few impressive albums under their belt now and Andy has worked with Devendra Banhart, Joanna Newsom and a lot of the popular folk stars of recent years. Their vibrant west coast pop meets psych-folk sound is easy on the ears and warming on the heart. The band are tight as hell and will lead you through blissful pop tunes to head down jams with similar ease. Highly recommended.

For Fans Of: Devendra Banhart, Kings Of Convenience, Phosphorescent.
