New Heartbeats 3 @ The Windmill, June 6th.

Tired Irie

What? Thelittlestalkers present New Heartbeats 3, a club night featuring Tired Irie, New Islands, Derrick Brown, Tall Ships and The Electrilickers. For Fans Of: Indie, Dance, Post-Rock, Poetry, you name it.

Tired Irie from Leicester top the bill playing their dark electro guitar tunes. Danceable, intense and ultimately uplifting. Signed to the mighty Transgressive records in the UK & Europe, the label that is home to Foals and more recently M.B.A.R. and Esser. For Fans Of: Interpol, Radio 4, The Rapture.

New Islands are from the Midlands and also try their hand at the indie electro crossover game. A new band, this will be one of their first few gigs but they’ve already picked up radio play and have BBC Introducing and Club NME dates coming up in the days preceding this gig. Check their MySpace for details of those. For Fans Of: Post War Years, The Invisible, DFA.

Tall Ships are a Falmouth 3-piece playing intricate, danceable post-rock jams. According to their MySpace they formed ‘roughly 13.7 billion years ago’! For Fans Of: Television, Holy Fuck, Foals.

The rest of the lineup is completed by the spoken word of former paratrooper for the 82nd Airborne, gondolier, magician, and fired weatherman Derrick Brown from California and the entirely missable sounding The Electrilickers of Birmingham.
