Rubber Kiss Goodbye / Deastro @ Water Rats, May 11th.
What? Rubber Kiss Goodbye
Rubber Kiss Goodbye is a three piece rock n roll band with Oliver Thompson (lead guitar, vocals who also plays guitar for Bryan Ferry and Roxy Music) Tara Ferry (drums) and Peter Perret Jr. (Bass, formerly with Babyshambles and Love Minus Zero).
For Fans Of: Dylan, The Libertines, The Clash.
Support:
The Alexandria Quartet are from East London via Bergen, Norway. They play well crafted blues/disco guitar tunes with a good ear for a Beatles-esque melody. Their debut album is out May 25th.
Be sure to catch my highlight of the bill, Deastro or Randolph Chabot who opens up the night. He is signed to Michigan’s excellent Ghostly International label and is responsible for some of the most expansive fantastical electronic pop around, his new album Moondaggers takes things to heady new heights. Over in Europe for just a handful of dates, catch him now.
For Fans Of: Animal Collective, Passion Pit, Throw Me The Statue.
