Electroacoustic Club presents: Chris Wood/Stars Of Sunday League/Vandaveer, April 27th.

What? Chris WoodStars Of Sunday League /   Vandaveer

Chris Wood has been hailed as the ‘Renaissance man of English folk’. His album Trespasser won Radio 2s Folk album of the year. He combines old and new folk styles performing classic folk songs and his own compositions.

Main support Stars Of Sunday League are the main attraction for me. They are Euan Robinson and Sarah Triggs, from London via Edinburgh, with sometime backing vocals from Emmy the Great. They write sweet sounding folk ditties with eloquently delivered lyrics and a dry sense of humour. Heart warming tunes with a bit of mouth organ thrown in – you can’t go wrong can you? Ones to watch these guys.

Second support act Vandaveer sound equally enticing. They are Washington DC-based songsmith Mark Charles Heidinger and friends. He plays partly sunny, mostly cloudy, town-folk, city-pop song & dance routine. Intrigued? I am. He’s recently supported the likes of Bon Iver and Vetiver too.

For Fans Of: Frightened Rabbit, Donovan, Bon Iver, Bonnie Prince,The Leisure Society, Woodpigeon, James Yorkston, Belle & Sebastian.

When? Monday, April 27th.

Where? The Slaughtered Lamb, Farringdon.
