What? Dirty Projectors

I can’t believe I’m out of the country when this is going on! Tough luck. Dirty Projectors are one of the most innovative and unique sounding bands from a Brooklyn scene bursting with talent. Led by frontman Dave Longstreth who is regarded as somewhat of a visionary by his New York peers, Grizzly Bear to name but one. The last time I caught them in the capital was last year in Tufnell Park and I was blown away.

Dave’s unique vocal style is amazing and his guitar noodling is equally impressive. He’s backed up by one of the best drummers I’ve seen, Brian McOmber and the guitar, bass and harmonies of Amber Coffman and Angel Deradooria. Check out the below track taken from the forthcoming Red Hot Compilation – Dark Was The Night which Dave and the band recorded with none other than David Byrne of Talking Heads.

For Fans Of: A tough one but maybe – Grizzly Bear, The Microphones, Animal Collective.
